What makes this different from other pace calculators?

  • Multi-leg pacer planning. Most calculators give you one number. Bield splits your route into pacer legs by elapsed time, snapping handoffs to terrain valleys where it makes tactical sense to swap.
  • Crew-reach analysis. Ultra crews drive. We flag which checkpoints a car can realistically reach — not just where the GPS says you'll be. (Road-network analysis coming soon via OSM routing.)
  • Ultra-specific from the start. Pacing styles cover front-loading (banking time before your legs go) and negative splits (saving your fast legs for the back half). No 5K race-pace tables in sight.
  • Elevation-adjusted, not flat-ground fiction. ETAs use the same Haversine + elevation-modulator algorithm that powers Bield's crew-side panel — the one that's been tested against real SDW100 and UTMB splits.
  • Nothing leaves your browser. GPX parsing and all maths run locally. Zero upload, zero account required to use the calculator.

Bield's pace calc is for race day — multi-leg pacers, crew points, handoffs. Strava's great for what you've already done. We're for what's coming next.
