What is the Bield Rating?

The Bield Rating (internally "URDS") is a 1–100 difficulty score computed for a race’s route from real course data — distance, total ascent, and terrain type. Where a race has altitude or heat data available, those factors adjust the score too.

What do the diamond tiers mean?

The 1–100 score is banded into a 1–5 diamond scale, ski-run style: more diamonds means a harder course. Each tier also carries a one-word caption (from easiest to hardest) so you can gauge difficulty at a glance without reading the full score.

Does the Bield Rating account for heat and altitude?

When a race has the underlying data (a WBGT heat proxy and mean altitude for the course), the score includes multipliers for both — races without that data use the base distance/ascent/terrain score only.
